Bomber 6-28-2019: A Birthday “Party” for Firefox

[As Firefox does not yet have access to this site, YHC, Vector, has added his own blend of commentary to this BB]

15 PAX: Defrost, Duplex, Hi-Viz, T-Cell, Ride Along, Porcelain, Crablegs, Vector, Bad Boy, Lemon, Harvey Updyke, En Fuego, Crawlspace, Toothless, Firefox [who wants it on record that he was on time] on Q

Intro: Ride Along is back! [Hooray!] Not as humid as yesterday. Nice brisk mosey around McCabe up to parking lot and back down to the handicap parking area behind McCabe.

WOR:
40 x SSH [You could see the concern on the faces of the PAX after we flew past 25 reps and kept on going. We queried if this was a birthday Q upon hitting 40 – answer was a resounding yes. We prayed that all future exercises weren’t going to 40 . . . ]
10 x WMH
10 x Good Mornings
10 x LABCs
10 x rLABCs
10 x Air Presses
10 count arm hold

Thang:
No dice, no relays (maybe next time).

3 stations (playground, handicap parking lot, picnic benches). 3 groups. Each group rotates through the 3 stations and finishes up with a bear crawl around the traffic circle behind McCabe. Other complicated rules that ultimately boiled down to the following:

Round 1: 20 Squats, 20 Merkins, 20 Lunges/side, Bear Crawl
Round 2: 20 Jump Squats, 30 Merkins, 20 Dips, Bear Crawl
Round 3: 15 Pull-Ups, 10 Burpees, 30 Dips, Bear Crawl
Round 4: 10 Pull-Ups with Leg Raises [I mean, seriously?], 15 Burpees, 15 Derkins, Bear Crawl
Round 5: 15 Pull-Ups, 20 Merkins, 20 Derkins, Bear Crawl

20 Bulgarian Split Squats/side to finish up. [As if we weren’t already gassed . . . ]

Mary:
20 x LBCs
15 x V-Ups [At this point Hi-Viz laid out the F-bomb to express his excitement about the proposed exercise]
15 x Flutter Kicks
20 count Hollow Body Hold

Lots of groaning, disgruntled mumblechatter, which is… good?
[Some examples:  “Worst. Birthday. Party. Ever,” “What, no cake?” and “Where’s my gift bag?”]

Bullhorn:

Swift and smooth recovery and rehab for Shadow after ACL surgery
Strength and perseverance for Ride Along through challenging times at work
Always a pleasure and honor to lead the Bomber crew for a morning!

Bomber 5-24-2019: Guess the Playlist Theme

18 HIM came out to make themselves better by working their bodies and their minds via a playlist theme contest.

PAX:  Vector (QIC), PA, T-cell, Bad Boy, Toothless, DFrost, Cub Cadet, Lunch Lady, Crawlspace, Porcelain, Hambone, The Jeweler, Pumpkin Spice (FIFO), Dewey, Lemon, Blue Mule, Bicentennial Man, TK [Hambone, PA, and Pumpkin Spice for pre-party]

Conditions:   Light breeze, sunshine – perfect

For today’s workout, YHC created a themed playlist.  PAX were told that each person had 1 guess to get the theme.  First to guess the playlist theme wins breakfast at Dose and bragging rights as the smartest in all of Bomber.  Those paying attention should have caught clues all along the way . . .

Warm-o-rama:

Mosey to Rec Center.  SSH x 11, WMH x 11, Good Mornings x 11, LBAC x 11, Seal Claps x 11, RLBAC x 11, and Imperial Walkers x 11 (that’s 77 total for those of you paying attention at home – hmm, a clue perhaps?)

Playlist: (First Half)

Opportunities (Let’s Make Lot’s of Money) – Pet Shop Boys
Why Can’t I Be You? – The Cure
Don’t You Want Me? – Human League
Mama, Said Knock You Out – LL Cool J
I Touch Myself – The Divinyls

First Round:
Mosey over to side of Rec Center for 7s (hmm, another clue?):
Split squats and Irkins

Second Round:
Another set of 7s (clue):
No Surrenders and Squats

Third Round:
Mosey to wall.  25 reps each of:
Dips
Elbows to Hands
American Hammers

Fourth Round:
Another round of 25 reps of:
Derkins
Lt. Dans
Y-Raises

By now, the PAX had multiple way wrong guesses (“The songs to which you first had sex,” “Your med school study playlist,” “Revenge of the Nerds,”) and one protester who noted the songs were “too old” (cough, cough, Pumpkin Spice).  T-cell saved the day by correctly guessing the theme of 7 Deadly Sins – It helped that the current song playing on the playlist was It’s a Sin by the Pet Shop Boys.  YHC noted the clues of 7 and the first letters of all the exercises (S-I-N-S and D-E-A-D-L-Y) that were right there in plain view.  The first 5 songs represented Greed, Envy, Pride, Wrath, and Lust.

Playlist: (Second Half)

#1 Crush – Garbage (Lust)
Come Out and Play – Offspring (Wrath)
Obsession – Animotion (Envy)
We are the Champions – Queen (Pride)

Celebratory Repeat Round:

25 reps each of the S-I-N-S exercises followed by 25 reps of the D-E-A-D exercises.

Mary:   Exercises to represent the theme.  25 Alabama Prom Dates (Lust) followed by ones that represent Envy (because all will be envious of our awesome abs after this workout):  WWIs, Crunchy Happy Frogs, and some painful crunch that Blue Mule picked (brain was too hypoxic to recall name, but it was effective).

COT:

  • Prayers for Bad Boy’s colleague’s son who sustained head trauma after skateboarding and for those in my hometown of Jefferson City, MO after the tornado hit on Weds night.  Also prayers of thanksgiving for my son and Cub Cadet’s son, who graduated 8th grade last night (CC’s son was valedictorian).
  • Reminded the PAX that the 7 deadly sins of Greed, Lust, Sloth, Gluttony, Wrath, Envy, and Pride are all Jesters that can derail us on our course of acceleration to become HIM.  Thanks to all the PAX for helping us keep our eyes forward and away from these distractions in life.

Was an honor as always to lead you men this morning.

Bomber 4-5-2019: 49 and All is Fine

19 HIM came out into the beautiful gloom to make themselves better and to celebrate YHC’s 49th (technically, the real day was 3 weeks ago, but an untimely IR kept me off the Q).

PAX:  Vector (QIC), PA, T-cell, Hi-Viz, Bad Boy, Harvey Updyke, Toothless, Duplex, DFrost, Cub Cadet, WL Carmen SanDiego (F3 Cherokee), WL Deuce (F3 Jackson), Tiny Dancer, Lunch Lady, Firefox, Preacher Man, Crablegs, Crawlspace, Porcelain

Conditions:   57 degrees, perfect

Last year, for my 48th birthday and my inaugural Q, I started with 48 SSH, but my overall lack of fitness had me die out around 27.  So today, I had to start with 49 SSH, with PAX lined along the wall.  Nailed it.

Mosey to McCabe Pub for rest of the

Warm-o-rama:  WMH x 4, WMH x 9, LBAC x 4, LBAC x 9, Seal Claps x 4, Seal Claps x 9, RLBAC x 4, RLBAC x 9, Good Mornings x 4, Good Mornings x 9.

Mosey behind Murphy Road Animal Hospital to the conveniently placed large rocks.  49 Step-ups.

First Round:
Mosey over to playground where the main event was held.

DORA (I mean, it’s what I do):

Pull-Ups x 49
Merkins x 149
Squats x 249
Plankjacks x 349

More pull-ups when finish early

Playlist:  Rather than torture the PAX with songs from 1970, my birth year (“Bridge Over Troubled Water” doesn’t really lend itself to a strong workout), I played selected cheesy/awesome tunes from 1984 (my 14th year and, by coincidence, PA’s birth year)

Owner of a Lonely Heart – Yes
The Reflex – Duran Duran
Talking in Your Sleep – The Romantics
Let’s Go Crazy – Prince and the Revolution
I Feel for You – Chaka Khan
Out of Touch – Hall & Oats
You Might Think – The Cars
I’m So Excited – The Pointer Sisters

Mary:  Down the line PAX called special exercises including Flutter Kicks, Alabama Prom Dates, WWIs, LBCs, Alphabet (“Happy Birthday Vector” – Thanks T-cell!), Boxcutters, Hello Dolly’s, Crunchy Happy Frogs, Leg Lifts (AKA “Weezy Jeffersons” per Carmen SanDiego, because we’re “movin’ on up”), Freddy Mercuries, Hello Dolly’s again, American Hammers, and probably a few more . . .

COT:

  • Prayers for Duplex’s dying grandfather (honorary F3 name Big Daddy) and his family and for keeping our kids safe (prompted by Lunch Lady and his colleagues finding a student that was being stalked online by a sexual predator).  Also for my dad, who turns 80 today (and several PAX were thankful I didn’t celebrate with 80 SSH today).
  • So awesome to see the newer guys come back out – Cub Cadet, DFrost, Toothless, keep up the strong work!
  • Ended with a thanks to the PAX, as a year ago, I couldn’t lead the men on 48 SSH. Shows how far I have come in all areas F1, F2 and F3. Remember that age is just a number, be it 49 or 47 or 33 or 26, and each day we should push each other to be better in all aspects of life.  Look out for those around us who need F3 and keep EH’ing.

Was an honor as always to lead you men this morning.

No Easy Way Out – Robert Tepper [Rocky IV]

Second Round (PA):

  • Pull-Up Reverse Pyramid – 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1
  • An attempt to do pull-up hold at top, but some HIM (cough, cough . . .me) failed that one miserably.
  • Jacob’s Ladder – Bernie Sanders up the back driveway to main lot, clerkins at the top, run back to bottom increasing reps to 7

Mary:
[10 burpee penalty as shovel flag had fallen over]
Alabama Prom Dates x 20
Right and Left sided Leg Lifts x 20

COT:

  • Tonight:  Need any last Ironclad F2 or F3 credits (or not, the fellowship is still good for you)?  Meet us at Edley’s in Sylvan Park at 2000 for beers and some Q Source.
  • Warpath 4-13-2019 in Franklin
  • Gauntlet 5-4-2019 with Nolensville HIM
  • T-shirt order for F3 Nashville open now.  Ironclad and Revised Scorpion to come soon.

Thanks to PA for creating Ironclad and pushing us to be better.  Has been hard work but definitely see the benefits — more comfortable being Q, stronger, can now tolerate some running, glad to have tried out new AOs and met more HIM.  Highly recommend doing it next go around if you weren’t able to this time.

Atlantis 3-28-2019: Under the Sea

7 HIM came out into the beautiful gloom to make themselves better and to launch the first Q under the AOs new name – gents, let’s get ready to go “under the sea!”

PAX:  Crablegs, Crawlspace (LIFO), en fuego, Lunch Lady, Right Said, Trapper Keeper, Vector (QIC)

Conditions:   52 degrees, perfect

American Hammers x 25
The Merkin x 50
Little Baby Crunches x 75
Air Presses x 100
Normal Squats x 100
Thigh Masters x 75
Irkins x 50
Steve Irwins x 25

Playlist:  (As an aside, do you know how hard it is to find moderately paced, ocean/sea/water themed catchy yet cheesy tunes?  I should get Ironclad credit for that alone, my friends . . .  but I digress)

Octopus’s Garden – The Beatles
Barracuda – Heart
The Tide is High – Blondie
Under the Sea – Samuel Wright (Yes,  that would be The Little Mermaid song)
Flood – Jars of Clay

  • Thanks to all who participated in yesterday’s #F3MentalBattle – reminded the PAX that we need to talk openly about these issues every day, so please continue to support one another.
  • Prayers for a friend of Lunch Lady and myself who’s newborn had to be admitted for jaundice.

Westeros 2-25-2019: Today’s Theme is No Theme

After a weekend on call, YHC didn’t have the mental sharpness to craft an overly complicated playlist and workout theme, but sometimes you just need to get out  into the gloom and get better.  Six HIM came out to join the fun.

PAX:  Hi_Viz, PA, Porcelain, Pumpkin Spice (FIFO), Right Said, Vector (QIC)

Conditions:    35 not-quite-Ironclad-credit degrees and perfect

Mosey to the back of WEMS for the

Warm-o-rama:  SSH x 20, WMH x 12,  LBAC x 15, Seal Claps x 15, Reverse LBAC x 15, Good Mornings x 12

Partner up for first round and mosey to the front of the school.

First Round: Pendulum DORA

Partner #1 starts — 100 incline merkins, 200 LBCs, 300 squats with Partner #2 running first to the right side of the school to perform 3 burpees, then run past the PAX to the left side of the school, perform 3 burpees, head to middle to tag partner.

Second Round:
At step risers by playground, PAX perform Dips as one-at-a-time each walk along the wall hands-to-elbows (a walking Makhtar N’Diayes – Ugh, UNC Sucks) and restart Dips on other end until PAX finished. Rinse & repeat.

Third Round:
7s: Pull-ups and Bavarian Split Squats.

With some time left, max-out pull-ups with partner to reach 40.

Mosey to parking lot for Mary of Flutter Kicks, Alabama Prom Dates, Hello Dolly, WWIs, 30-60-90 degrees, and Boxcutters.  Time called.

Playlist:
Move – Saint Motel
Take on Me – a-ha
Dangerous – Big Data
September – EWF (no, PA, this wasn’t played at my graduation)
My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark – Fall Out Boy
Out of my League – Fitz & the Tantrums
Here it Goes Again – OK Go
Ready to Go – Republica
Seven Nation Army – White Stripes

COT:

  • The Scorpion is coming – CSAUP on the Wild Westside, 4 AOs, plenty of fun.  HC today!  0600 on March 23.
  • Prayers for Bad Boy, his M, and impending 2.1 after an unexpected fall.
  • Discussed importance of having HIM out even if on IR — use time to do PT or modify but still part of the PAX.
  • Plenty of Q spots open for March!  Sign up today!
  • Closed out by noting that on some days, you may not have the energy to plan a theme/overcome fatigue, but important to keep moving forward.  I’m grateful with each post for the HIM who have made me better and keep pushing me to be a HIM.  ISI.  Was an honor to lead you men this morning. SYITG,

Bomber 1-25-2019: Strange Happenings Afoot

22 HIM came out into the chilly gloom to make themselves better, and strange happenings ensued.

PAX:  ABC, Bad Boy, Bicentennial Man, Blue Mule, Brother-at-Law, CCR, Crawlspace, en fuego, Firefox,  Harvey Updyke, Hi_Viz, Hot Route, Pop-A-Lock, Porcelain, Pumpkin Spice, Ride Along, Right Said, Shadow, T-cell, Tiny Dancer, Trapper Keeper, Vector (QIC)

Conditions:   23 degrees, wind chill a balmy 13 (Ironclad credit, ka-ching)

Mosey to the upper parking lot and then down to Rec Center cul-de-sac for the

Warm-o-rama:  WMH x 12,  Cherry Pickers x 12, Good Mornings OYO x 15 (at which point, YHC was mocked for his “strenuous Good Morning Apocalypse” — oh, just you wait, my friends . . . ), LBAC x 15, Overhead Claps x 15, Reverse LBAC x 15, SSH x 20.

Partner up for first round, which was moderately successful given YHC crappy instructions to “look to your right” for your partner — most figured it out.

First Round:
DORA — 100 burpees, 200 merkins, 300 dips with partner run around Rec Center.   And then, strange things ensued . . . While attempting to start the patented Vector Cheesy Playlist (“Heat” themed, of course), we learned several important lessons:

  1.   Crappy bluetooth speakers don’t like the cold
  2.   T-cell REALLY likes the playlists, running back to his car for a cord (hmm, why  so persistent, you say?  You’ll see in a bit)
  3.   Hi-Viz is a true HIM, as his “partner,” YHC, spent more time with the audio than with his share of the exercises
  4.   The PAX is a little slow on the draw at 5:30am and 23 degrees, as it took a good 4 songs before realization of the “heat” theme to today’s audio enjoyment.

Playlist:
Some Like It Hot – The Power Station
Burn the House Down – AJR
The Heat is On – Glenn Frey
Hot, Hot, Hot – The Cure
Hot in Herre – Nelly
Blister in the Sun – Violent Femmes
Walking on Sunshine – Katrina and the Waves
Hot Stuff – Donna Summer

Second Round:
After plank work, mosey to playground for “7”s”
Pull-ups (regular on the odds, wide on the evens) and squats

Because we “had enough time,” PAX performed 100 jump squats, perhaps in part for mocking my Good Mornings . . . and that’s when we discovered T-cell’s unabashed love for Donna Summer/Disco.  In what could be described by some as “feeling the spirit,” our friendly neighborhood Volunteer shook his groove thang.  A sight that the PAX won’t quickly forget . . .

Mosey to parking lot for quick Mary of flutter kicks x 20 and Crunchy Happy Frogs x 20 (led by T-cell, so we could stop his boogie fever).  Time called.

COT:

  • Bicentennial Man – 6th man.  Learned “C” stands for “Clarence.” So all we need is a Roger to re-enact the classic scene from Airplane:
  • Prayers for ABC’s friend, Jennifer, in Texas, hospitalized with fevers of unknown origin.
  • Glad CCR could mosey over to his first Bomber post.  Hopefully all the high jinx won’t make it his last visit.
  • Plenty of Q spots open for February — opportunities for leadership (and if anyone wants to VQ, I’ll provide the playlist, free of charge).
  • West Park AO launch successful yesterday, led by Crablegs.  Try to make it out to keep momentum at a great AO site.
  • And finally, the last lesson learned — when trying to shut down your iPhone, don’t ignore the “Emergency Call” feature, as YHC accidentally let our friendly neighborhood 911 operator know we had finished our workout (hence the sudden 862-8600 follow up call).  I blame the trauma induced by T-cell’s gyrations . . . so disturbing, so mesmerizing.

Was an honor to lead you men this morning. SYITG,

Westeros 12.24.18: The 12 Tasks of F3-mas

5 HIM came out into the gloom to celebrate Christmas Eve (Pre-party with The Jeweler and Porcelain).

PAX:  T-cell, Crawl Space (LIFO), The Jeweler, Porcelain, Vector (QIC)

Conditions:   Freezing fog and 29 degrees – in other words, perfect

Warm-o-rama:  SSH x 12, Willy Mayes Hayes x 12,  LBAC x 12, Overhead Presses x 12, Reverse LBAC x 12, Good Mornin’s x 12.  Crawl Space pulling into parking lot necessitated an extra 12 Merkins so he could catch up to the PAX.

In celebration of the holidays (and perhaps to fondly recall PA’s recent Q at Bomber?) the PAX performed the 12 Tasks of F3-mas.  Increasing in reps, the PAX partnered up and could not move on to the next stage until all were finished (Keeping the F2 principle alive). Of course, all accompanied by the requisite Vector Cheesy Playlist (patent pending), holiday themed, of course.

Playlist:
Mr. Heat Miser – Big Bad Voodoo Daddy
Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree – Brenda Lee
Last Christmas – Jimmy Eat World
Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) – U2
Christmas in Hollis – Run-DMC
Christmas in Sarajevo – Trans-Siberian Orchestra
Christmas Wrapping – The Waitresses
Feliz Navidad – Jose Feliciano
Santa Stole My Lady – Fitz and the Tantrums
Wonderful Christmastime – The Shins

The Tasks:  After completing each task, run with partner around the traffic circle (although once YHC realized that we’d only performed 3 tasks and had 25 minutes to go, we abandoned the laps – had nothing to do with my distaste for running, of course).

10        Burpees
20        V-Ups
30        Lt Dans
40        Pull Ups
50        Merkins
60        Dips
70        Incline Merkins
80        Jump Squats
90        Little Baby Crunches
100      Plank Jacks
110       SSH
120      Squats

Mosey back to flag to end the fun.

COT:   Prayers for my father-in-law (has early stage dementia) and thanks for the holiday season.  Especially thanks to the men today for the opportunity to lead and get better each day.

Bomber 11.2.2018: Reflections on Time

22 HIM came out into the gloom to reflect on time

PAX:  PA, Bad Boy, T-cell, Hi-Viz, Lunch Lady, Pumpkin Spice, Crawl Space, Right Said, En fuego, Duplex, Shadow, Ride Along (FNG), Hambone, Harvey Updyke, Crablegs, Bicentennial Man, Porcelain, Silver Medal, ABC, TK, Firefox, Vector (QIC)

Conditions:   Cool but comfortable, especially as many HIM debuted their new F3 wardrobe swag

Warm-o-rama:  Willy Mayes Hayes x 12, Good Mornin’s x 12, LBAC x 12, Seal claps x 12, Reverse LBAC x 12

Flashback:  November 3, 2017 – YHC arrived at Bomber with Ebola, unsure of what was about to happen.  Hambone on Q, several thoughts flashed across my brain about 4 minutes in as we bear crawled up the street next to Edley’s (1. “This is odd,” 2. “Holy crap, I’m out of shape,” and 3. “Don’t barf. Don’t barf. Don’t barf.”)

In the year that’s followed, I’ve gotten stronger, embraced the odd, and have not barfed.   More importantly, I’ve grown as a HIM and leader thanks to all of you.  So today, as I reflected on the passage of time, I decided we all should do the same.  Time is fleeting, often wasted, and finite.  We must use the time we have to better ourselves as leaders, men, husbands, partners, brothers, sons, uncles, etc.

Playlist:

It’s Time – Imagine Dragons (2012)

Days Go By – Dirty Vegas (2002)

Only Time Will Tell – Asia (1982)

4 Minutes – JT/Madonna (2008)

Time Has Come Today – Chambers Brothers (1967)

Too Much Time on My Hands – Styx (1981)

Closing Time – Semisonic (1998)

Clocks – Coldplay (2002)

Mosey to Rec Center Cul-de-sac. Clock shaped, it served well as our first exercise AO.  Partner up to race the clock:

#1:   On even numbers of the clock face, jump squats (12 reps, 10, 8 . . .) around the clock. Odd numbers, merkins.  Once group moves to 11, next group starts at 12.  PAX performed SSH (as seconds ticking away) until their turn to race.  Plank action when finished.

#2:  Evens: Squats.  Odds: Plank Jacks

Mosey to Hill for 7s (like the days of the week).  Lt. Dans at bottom, burpees at top.  On 3rd time up the hill (representing Wednesday, which of course is “HUMP DAY!” run down to other side of the hill and back, stop to perform the Bad Boy Honorary Lt. Dan Burpee x 4.

Mosey to Wall:  DID x 15 for 2 sets.  3rd set x 10 with focus on partner’s form.

Mary:  Circle up (like a clock) – PAX choice around the clock:  Flutter kicks, Hello Dollys, WW1s, Crunchy Happy T-cells . . . I mean Frogs, Ankle Taps, J-Los, Freddy Mercurys, Russian Twists

COT:   Welcome FNG Ride Along (a.k.a. Chris)!!  6th Man: Porcelain.  Congrats to Bad Boy and M for the gender reveal (It’s a girl!).

Thanks to all HIM for the past year.  I have truly grown in ways I had not planned or anticipated.  Value the time you have with your loved ones, and continue to strive each day to be better than the day before.

Friendly Friday the 13th: Boogying Down at Bomber

PAX:  PA (pre-ruck), Hi-Viz (pre-ruck), T-cell, Third Person, Bad Boy, Blue Mule, Hambone, en fuego, TK, Reveille, Lunch Lady, Mighty Stork, Canary, Ebola, The Baptist, Lemon, Crawl Space, Studio 42, Meatloaf (FNG), Frequency (FNG), Harvey Updyke, Firefox, Tiny Dancer, Voucher, Keep the Change, Vector (QIC)

26 (including 2 FNGs) enjoyed a perfect mid-70s (in both temperature and playlist) morning.

Disclaimer

The First F:  Fitness – Warm-o-rama:
WMH x 13
LBAC x 13 (Aside #1 – this was disrupted by mumble chatter pointing out Bad Boy and T-cell’s matching outfits; rumored conversation between the two later in the workout: “Next week, let’s go with an orange motif.”)
Lunch Lady for a 13 count (aside #2, Kotters to Lunch Lady – you were missed!)
Seal Claps x 13
RLBAC x 13
GM x 13

THANG:
Mosey to McCabe Rec Center.  To commemorate Friday the 13th, YHC, noting the very few PAX who were alive in the 1970s (aside #3:  Major Kotters to Mighty Stork’s return and glad to have a pre-1980 HIM with me), decided to use this day of bad luck and horror movies to go back to a murder — July 12, 1979.  Comiskey Park, White Sox vs. Tigers.  A local DJ held a promotion – $1 ticket to a doubleheader if you brought in a disco record.  Between games, they were taken on field (the records, not the fans) and blown up (along with a section of center field), in an event forever known as the “Death of Disco.”  As such, our workout today focused on remembering that horrifying (yet catchy) music of my youth.   Also, as mental strength is as important as physical strength for HIM, the workout was performed to a playlist of disco classics (that I actually may or may not have in my collection):

Staying Alive, Bee Gees
Boogie Wonderland, Earth, Wind and Fire
Heart of Glass, Blondie
That’s the Way (I Like It), KC and the Sunshine Band
I Will Survive, Gloria Gaynor
Le Freak, Chic

Round #1:  Split into 6 groups (F2: Fellowship – as we need others to become true leaders and to push us along the way).  Each group at a station. Rotate when runners return (runners do 13 dips on first set on McCabe benches).  2 Sets.

D:  Derkins
I:  Incline Merkins
S:  SSH
C:  Crunchy Frogs
O:  Over/Under (line up in plank position, jump over your group members and crawl back under)

Round #2:  Mosey to playground, same groups, same concept, 1 set

S:  Squats/Split-squats
U:  pull-Ups
C:  Calf Raises
K:  “Killer” Burpees (whatever version of burpees kills you — for some, even thinking of burpees at this point was a killer)
S:  Swerkins

Round #3:  Mary
PAX choice, 13 reps.  Got 8-9 different exercises in from Flutter kicks x 2, American Hammers, Boxcutters, Newton’s Cradle, etc. etc.  To ease the mental angst from disco, playlist included several non-disco classics from 1979:

London Calling, The Clash
Let’s Go, The Cars

COT – F3: Faith:
Welcomed 2 FNGs, Frequency (who likes to listen to morning radio with one ear at work), and Meatloaf (a transplant back home from ATL).  So great to have new men come out into the gloom and experience F3 — welcome back anytime!  Prayers for Reveille’s cousin (now in rehab) and praises/prayers for Lunch Lady’s new/old job.  Truly was an honor to lead you all this morning as we all push each other to be better men, husbands, partners, fathers, friends.  Was told I get “Most Improved Cadence,” which means my first Q, I must have really biffed it!  And I’m not apologizing for all those disco ear worms that swam throughout your head all day.
SYITG,
