Bomber 5-26-2023: Graduation

It’s been a bittersweet few weeks at YHC’s house, as my 2.0 Thomas has picked his college destination (Boiler Up!) and last Saturday graduated from high school.  As our relationship hits an important transition, YHC wanted to celebrate graduation and provide some life lessons. As an added bonus, my 2.O as well as Cub Cadet’s 2.0 Edward came out for their first F3 workouts.

PAX:  23 (to celebrate the Class of ’23?)  Chunks, Cream Cheese, Cub Cadet, Dinty Moore, Firefox, Focker, Hambone, Legal Eagle, Kat Scan, Princess Aurora, Ranch Hand, Shockdoc (FNG),  Siri, Solocup, Spinal Tap, Steampunk (FNG), Supernova, T-cell,  The Flop (FNG), Toolman, Topps (FNG), Vector (QIC), Wet Wipes

Conditions:   60 degrees and perfect

Disclaimer given and then start the playlist:
Pomp & Circumstance to start the day, but sometimes graduation means learning hard lessons . . . cue

Life’s What You Make It – Talk Talk
(“Baby, life’s what you make it. Celebrate it. Anticipate it.”)
Don’t Stop Believin’ – Journey

  • COT

Thanks, HIM for helping Cub Cadet and me celebrate Thomas and Edward and reflect on their graduation.  Those with little ones, realize their graduation day will be here much faster than you want (the days are long but the years are short). While, yes, I did make my 2.0 splash (sorry T!), later that day he said, “Dad, I think I will come out again. When I was doing it, it was no fun, but you feel so much better if you start your day that way.”  Perhaps we have a new convert? We’ll see.  Remember, we all have our graduations, big and small.  Cherish those around you and make in impact in their lives.  You all do that for me and hopefully I return the favor.

Bomber 3-24-2023: 53DM

YHC turned 53 last week (you may have seen Cub Cadet’s backblast from the OTB cruise workout in the middle of the Caribbean last week – see Titan channel), so wanted to celebrate a little late with my favorite burpee brothers (even though not a single burpee occurred). Playlist wasn’t a cute theme – just a playlist of YHC’s favorite band, Depeche Mode, who kicked off their world tour last night and who I will see for the first time next weekend.  If you didn’t like post-punk British new wave or the number 53, you were not happy . . .

PAX:  Black Lung, Cream Cheese, Cub Cadet, Dinty Moore, Firefox, Pep, Pop-a-Lock, Right Said, Supernova, T-cell, Vector (QIC), Wet Wipes

Conditions:   Balmy 70 with birds tweeting

DM Playlist:
Personal Jesus
Just Can’t Get Enough
Behind the Wheel
Never Let Me Down Again
Walking in my Shoes
It’s No Good
Precious
I Feel You
Everything Counts (Live)

Disclaimer given and then a tradition unlike any other:

  • Warm-o-rama:    SSH x 53 (Pep asked “How old are you Vector?” to which I responded “Oh you will learn very soon”)
  • Wander to Rec Center:  LBAC x 15, RLBAC x 15, WMH 15 OHO, Good Mornings 10 OHO
  • Thang 1:  53 Dora

Partner up. one does exercise, one runs around rec center:  53 pull ups, 153 merkins, 253 squats.  When done, improvised rock pass on wall.

  • Thang 2:  Presents!

Go to hill and see what presents the HIM brought.  PAX pick exercise x 53 reps, then sprint up the hill.  So many good presents . . . but oddly, I didn’t ask for Black Lung’s present, as I suspected it might have rhymed with “burped peas.”

  • Thang 3: My gift to the PAX

As at every quality birthday party, you get a take home gift.  Today it was DIDs: 18 dips, 18 incline merkins, and 17 decline merkins (adds up to 53. Get it?).  PAX was so deserving that they got a second present of the same thing.

COT:

  • Prayers for Firefox’s M, kids making college decisions, and others unnamed. CSAUP this weekend and Richland Creek Run the following weekend (sign up for F3 team).

Thanks, HIM.  Thinking back, the thought that at 53 I could do what I do now (even though I’m a little slow) would have been laughable. I owe thanks to each of you (not just those not present today but who spent time with me in the gloom).  You’ve made me a better man, and I deeply appreciate each of you.

SYITG,

Titan 2-1-2023: Gods, Heroes, and Myths . . . and a Little Ice

In my 5+ years of F3, I’ve enjoyed making the journey across Sylvan Park (which today was treacherous, my friends, with ice and a cold chill . . . ) to visit Titan, the world’s only AO with a Parthenon (looking at you, F3 Athens).  But I have never Q’d at this impressive locale . . . until today!  8 HIM braved the slick roads to make themselves better, complete with a theme and (of course) a playlist befitting the AO.

PAX:  Black Lung, Chunks, Crawlspace, Kervorkian (Double Respect WL from New Bern NC), Natural Ice, Right Said, Tim the Toolman, Vector (QIC)

Conditions:   31 degrees with ice all around (but not in our hearts . . . aww)

Theme:  Ancient Mythology (Greek, Norse, whatevs — you try making a playlist that fits 40 mins on the topic . . . )

Patented Cheesy Yet Secretly Good Playlist:

Venus – Bananarama
God of Thunder – KISS
Icarus – Bastille
Zeus – Eminem (f. White Gold)
Immigrant Song – Led Zeppelin
Way Down Hadestown – Hadestown Original Broadway Cast
Dirty Diana – Michael Jackson (I know it’s about Diana Ross, but c’mon, there’s a Roman Goddess named Diana too)
Venus – Frankie Avalon
Zero to Hero – From Disney’s Hercules
Cupid – Sam Cooke
Carve Away the Stone – Rush
Venus – Shocking Blue

Disclaimer given and then mosey to the side of the Parthenon:

  • Warm-o-rama:   WMH x 10, Good Mornings x 10, SSH x 20, LBC a 20, RLBC x 20, Squats x 20
  • Thang 1:  The Story of Sisyphus:

Famous for cheating death x 2, Sisyphus was committed by Hades to an afterlife doomed to push a large rock up a hill for eternity (as the rock would roll to the bottom just as he neared the top).

11s planned for the Parthenon steps (but rapidly changed as we noted the ice slick): Bear Crawl to top of grass/icy hill – Squats – Crawl Bear (trying to not break one’s arm/ankle/ass/etc.) to bottom – Merkins.  Somewhat amusing watching the PAX navigate the downhill — but zero broken asses!

  • Thang 2: The 12 Labors of Hercules

Mirroring the trials of early HIM Herc, we did 20 reps of 12 exercises:  Merkins, Irkins, Derkins, Squats, Jump Squats, Mountain Climbers, Star Jumps, Dips, American Hammers, Happy Crunchy Frogs, Squats again, Burpees.

  • Thang 3: Pheidippides and the Marathon.

In 490 BC, during the wars between Persia and Athens, Athenians were certain they’d lose and had sadly planned to burn their city and kill their women and children if they lost the Battle of Marathon, a burg about 40km away. Well, Athens won (“Do You Believe in Miracles!), so ole Pheidippides bolted to Athens to stop the destruction.  So, in honor of his run, we ran 3 laps on the circle (4 if you’re Black Lung) and successfully saved Nashville.

  • Thang 4: Working for that GOD BOD

20 of each:

Gorilla Humpers
Overhead Press
Dips

Burpees
Overhead Press
Derkins

  • Mary with Alabama Prom Dates, Boxcutters, Some Crazy Plank Thing that Chunks Made Up, Freddy Mercuries to name just a few.

COT:

  • Prayers for Chunks as he nears some big transitions at home with his mediation
  • Prayers for travelling PAX
  • Keep pushing all you LeanPaxers!
  • A lot of beer drinking planned after LP is over (but don’t lose all of your gains,  PAX!)

Thanks, HIM.  As always, I appreciate your tolerance for my crazed themes and ’twas an honor to lead you this morning.

SYITG,

iii Pillars 12-13-2022: Time Keeps on Slipping . . .

YHC was excited to travel east to join the HIM of iii Pillars.  Had to bring my best in terms of a theme/playlist . . . oh, and there was a workout too.  Today we focused on time – how we don’t know how much we have, we risk wasting it, and we must value it.

PAX:  Bad Boy, Formica, Go Fish, Govt Mule, Grape, Grisham, Haggis, Harbaugh, Headgear (FNG), Hipster, Howitzer,  Jazzercise, PA, Pep, T-cell, Vector (QIC) & Yum-yum.

Conditions:   37 degrees but a pretty nice sunrise

Patented Cheesy Yet Secretly Good Playlist:

Only Time Will Tell – Asia
Days Go By – Dirty Vegas
It’s Time – Imagine Dragons
4 Minutes – Madonna with JT
Time Has Come Today – The Chambers Brothers
Happy Hour – The Housemartins
Too Much Time on My Hands – Styx
Tik Tok – Ke$ha
If I Could Turn Back Time – Cher
Closing Time – Semisonic
Clocks – Coldplay

Disclaimer given and then mosey to the track, stopping to respectfully lunge up the hill:

  • Warm-o-rama:   SSH x 20, LBAC x 15, RLBAC x 15, Squats x 15, Toy Soldiers x 10
  • Thang 1:  Race the Clock:

12 Pull ups, 24 merkins, 30 squats, 60 LBCs and then run lap (clockwise, of course) — repeat until Q grew tired of this round

  • Thang 2: PAX O’Clock

Circle up.  Starting with Q, each PAX calls exercise for 12 reps.  While rest of PAX do the exercise, that person serves as the second hand, doing SSH until the 12 reps are over. Great mix of leg, arm, core exercises by the crew.

Ended with a demonstration of the well-wound clock with 60 SSH as a group.

  • Mosey to startex for a few last Flutter Kicks and Alabama Prom Dates.

COT:

  • Next Open Tab: This Friday, December 16th at Fat Bottom in the Nations (start ~5:30p) — topic : A relationship that has impacted you
  • NYE Convergence
  • LeanPAX coming in January (c’mon, HIM – you know you want 6 pack abs, right?)

Thanks, HIM.  Honor to lead you this morning.

Westeros 11-28-2022: Double the Effort

The PAX returned from the Thanksgiving holiday full of turkey, stuffing, pumpkin pie and other assorted feasts. YHC needed to think of a workout theme to start the pre-Christmas workouts appropriately.  Because sometimes you have to put in twice the work to get results, today’s workout was repeated and had an appropriately doubled playlist.

PAX:  Chunks, Crawlspace, Natural Ice, Right Said, Salpal, Siri, Spinal Tap, Supernova, Tool Man, & Vector (QIC).

Conditions:   47 degrees – practically balmy

Playlist:

History Repeating – Propellerheads (playlist theme clue)
Promises, Promises – Naked Eyes
Bye Bye Bye – *NSYNC
Rebel Rebel – David Bowie
Doctor Doctor – Thompson Twins
Mony Mony – Billy Idol
Money, Money, Money – ABBA
Girls, Girls, Girls – Motley Crue
Say, Say, Say – Paul McCartney & Michael Jackson
Talk Talk – Talk Talk
Louie Louie – The Kingsmen
Sugar, Sugar – The Archies

* Was pretty funny hearing the PAX try to determine the theme.  We went from my retirement announcement to I was becoming a banker to I was going to start running a strip joint . . . you’re thinking way too hard, my friends.

Disclaimer given and then mosey to the playground:

  • Warm-o-rama:   SSH x 20, LBAC x 10, RLBAC x 10, Willy Mays Hayes x 10
  • Thang: 50 squats, 30 merkins, 10 pull-ups.  Run to front of school, do one burpee, return and start again.
  • 0551: Disclaimer #2 given
  • Warm-o-rama #2:  SSH x 20, LBAC x 10, RLBAC x 10, Willy Mays Hayes x 10
  • Thang #2: 50 squats, 30 merkins, 10 pull-ups.  Run to front of school, do one burpee, return and start again.
  • Mary: Alabama Prom Dates x 10, Alabama Prom Dates x 10, Boxcutters x 10, Boxcutters x 10, LBCs x 10, LBCs x 10, J Los x 10, J Los x 10
  • Run back to startex and SSH x 10 and SSH x 10 for added measure.

COT:

  • Prayers for Baby Elijah and Salpal’s family; Praises for Supernova’s M (Happy birthday!)
  • Brewsday next Tuesday at 4:30p at 12 South Taproom
  • Next Open Tab: December 16th at Fat Bottom — topic TBD

Thanks, HIM.  Honor to lead you this morning.

Bomber 11-11-2022: Celebrating 5 Years in the Beautiful Driving Rain

A shy over 5 years ago, I finally relented to Ebola’s prodding and came out to meet a bunch of men, working out, in the dark cold gloom. Led by Hambone, I thought I would (but proudly did not) splash merlot after the WOR.  Flash forward to 2022, and the positive impact of F3 on my life, especially the past 3 years, has been huge (if my biceps are not quite so).  Thus, this morning, I wanted to celebrate all things 5.

PAX:  Black Lung, Focker, Legal Eagle, Michelin Man, Porcelain, Salpal, Supernova, T-cell, Tim the Toolman, Vector (QIC) and Wet Wipes with the dedicated wounded but healing walkers Cub Cadet and Firefox

Conditions:   Pelting sloppy rain, 60s – truly in the words of many PAX “beautiful”

Playlist:  Bands and songs with “5” in the name — a lot of bands with a lot of not so good songs:

I Want You Back – Jackson 5 (inadvertently deleted from playlist at the start by the soggy Q)
Wake Up Call – Maroon 5
Mambo No. 5 – Lou Bega
White Lines – Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five
9 to 5 – Dolly Parton
Video Killed the Radio Star – Ben Folds Five
She Looks So Perfect – 5 Seconds of Summer
5-1-5-0 – Dierks Bentley
Worth It – Fifth Harmony
Go Where You Want to Go – The 5th Dimension
Bad Company – Five Finger Death Punch
When the Lights Go Out – Five
Kick Out the Jams – MC5
Glad All Over – The Dave Clark Five (cut for time)
Superman (It’s Not Easy) – Five for Fighting (cut for time)

Disclaimer given and then mosey in the beautiful pelting rain to the McCabe Rec Center for the Sloppy Warm-o-rama (as Q tried to get music started):

Squats, LBAC, Reverse LBAC, WMH, Good Mornings

The Thang:  5 Exercises, 5(0) Reps, 5 Sets

5 exercises: Merkins, squats, big boy sit ups, DIPs, pull ups

Do 50 reps of each, run around the Rec Center, repeat for 5 sets. Q, in the interest of time, Q reduced reps of a selected exercise to 5 with each set.

Mary:  Flutter Kicks, Ankle Lifts, 10 Burpees, and a few SSH to close us out.

COT:

  • Open Tab (or Maybe Tap Out, Tap In – we were confused) tonight — check Slack for deets and come for the beers and more importantly the discussion.
  • 30 seconds to listen to the world (and our walkers returning to the COT)
  • Sincere thanks to the HIM and F3.  This morning, being grown up dudes basically splashing in the rain, illustrates why F3 is so special.  Reach out to those we encounter who would benefit from F3 as I have — I am stronger physically, emotionally, mentally thanks to all of the HIM who I’ve encountered along this journey.  Keep pushing and inspiring me and each other. #ISI
  • Also, I unfortunately failed to send thanks for our veterans on 11/11 — appreciate all of you (including Porcelain and Cub Cadet who were with us this morning).
  • Cafe Dose followed and was awesome (complete with Focker looking like he walked out of the sauna at the Y)

Bomber 11-5-2021: Reviewing 5 Core Principles on the Q’s 4th

A chilly morning with the season’s first signs of frost greeted 21 HIM on the 4th anniversary of YHC showing up in the gloom, nearly falling out by the time Hambone finished his Warm-o-Rama, and deciding to keep coming out to this rag tag bunch of dudes for the next 4 years.  With many new HIM from the past few years around, I realized we hadn’t had much talk of some of the F3 basics.  So today, YHC (using a highly coordinated playlist) reviewed the 5 F3 Core Principles.  Giddy-up!

PAX:  Bad Boy, Black Lung, Blue Mule, Crablegs, Crawlspace, Cub Cadet, Firefox, Hambone, Hi-Viz, McAfee, Michelin Man, Natural Ice, Porcelain, Pumpkin Spice, Princess Aurora, Right Said, Siri, Spinal Tap, Supernova, Tool Man, Vector (QIC),

Conditions:   Frosty, 32 degrees.

Disclaimer given and then mosey up hill and down to the McCabe Rec Center for the Warm-o-rama:
LBAC x 10, RLBAC x 10, WMH x 10 OYO, Good Mornin’s x 10 OYO

F3 Core Principles:

#1:  Workouts are free of charge.
Song: “I’m Free” – Soupdragons
Hold Air Chair until the word “free” noted in the song –> then do 1 burpee

#2:  Workouts are open to all men.
Song: “The Man” – The Killers
Stationary lunges until the word “man” noted in the song –> then do 1 jump squat

#3:  Workouts are held outdoors, rain or shine, hot or cold.
Songs: “Blame It on the Rain” – Milli Vanilli (or at least lip synched by them)
“Walking on Sunshine” – Katrina and the Waves
“Heat of the Moment” – Asia
“Cold as Ice” – Foreigner
DORA with partner:  100 Pull-ups, 200 WWIs, 300 Squats

#4:  Workouts are peer led with rotating leaders.
Song: “One Thing Leads to Another” – The Fixx
DIDs on the wall for duration of the song – 20 Dips, 20 irkins, 20 dirkins (repeat)

#5:  Workouts end with a Circle of Trust.
Songs: “Circles” – Post Malone & “A Question of Trust” – Billy Joel
Mary PAX Choice — a lot of goodies including Crunchy Happy Frogs to honor T-cell in his absence

COT:

  • Praises for Bad Boy and M 10th anniversary!
  • Sincere thanks to the HIM and F3.  F3 has been far more formative for me than I could ever imagine 4 years ago. Being an HIM, inspired by all of you, has made me such a better person and leader. Keep pushing and inspiring me and each other. #ISI

Westeros 7-5-2021: Party in the USA

6 HIM resisted the strong temptation of the post-fireworks/beers/brats/burgers fartsack and came out to make themselves better. What better way to do that than to a Q celebrating the holiday a mere hours past?

PAX:  Crawlspace, Cub Cadet, Oatmeal, FNG Supernova, Tool Man, & Vector (QIC).

Conditions:   mid-70s. Not too humid.

Playlist:  ‘Merica!

Living in America – James Brown
American Girl – Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers
American Idiot – Green Day
American Boy – Estelle w/ Kanye
Young Americans – David Bowie
Kids in America – Kim Wilde
Born in the U.S.A. – Springsteen
R.O.C.K in the U.S.A – John Mellencamp
America – Neil Diamond
Party in the U.S.A – Miley Cyrus
Surfin’ USA – Beach Boys

Disclaimer given and then mosey to the tennis court:

  • Warm-o-rama:   SSH x 20,  Squats x 15, LBAC x 15, Seal Claps x 15, RLBAC x 15, Willy Mays Hayes x 10 OHO, Good Mornings x 10
  • Stars:  At each corner of court, do 10 star jumps, then bear crawl (you’re welcome, Cub Cadet) to next corner and do another 10.  Stop after 50. Repeat with star merkins and lunges.
  • Stripes:  Run to front of WEMS.  Round of “13s” back-and-forth in front of school with squats on one end, merkins on the other.
  • Mary:  Mosey to Startex.  American Hammers x 15, Freddy Mercuries x 15, American Hammers (again) x 15, Box Cutters x 15, Flutter Kicks x 15, and American Hammers yet again (’cause “Merica!) x 15.

COT:

  • Welcome FNG Supernova, a friend of Spinal Tap, a hospitalist at Stonecrest who got his name due to almost missing the workout due to the “riveting” podcast on Supernovas he was listening to at the start.
  • Prayers and thanksgiving for those about to travel and those recently returned.

Thanks, HIM.  Honor to lead you this morning.

Bomber 6-18-2021: Making Faces

17 HIM came out to the gloom to make some faces.  In recognition of the long time during the pandemic when we didn’t see many faces but just a bunch of masks, YHC thought we’d workout to a “face” themed Q.  As usual, the playlist was weeks in the making . . . the workout, not so much.

Playlist:  Songs with Facial Features Prominently Featured (and no, all of these aren’t from, like 40 years ago . . . but some are.  They’re good tunes, so expand your music library, folks)

Eyes Without a Face – Billy Idol
Lips Like Sugar – Echo and the Bunnymen
Tongue Tied – Grouplove
World in My Eyes – Depeche Mode
Can’t Feel My Face – The Weeknd
Mouth – Bush
Blood Makes Noise (Ringing in My Ears) – Suzanne Vega
Over My Head – The Fray
Private Eyes – Hall & Oates
Head Like a Hole – Nine Inch Nails

PAX:  Chowdah, Crablegs, Crawlspace, Cub Cadet, Firefox, Hardcover (FNG), McAfee,  Michelin Man, Minus 3, Natural Ice, Right Said Fred, Siri, Solo Cup, Spinal Tap, T-cell, Weezer (Willy Lohman from Memphis), & Vector (QIC),

Conditions:   mid-70s. Not too humid.

Disclaimer given and then mosey up to the McCabe Circle:

“Eye #1”

  • Warm-o-rama:   LBAC x 15, Seal Claps x 15, RLBAC x 15, Willy Mays Hayes x 15 OHO, Good Mornings x 10,  SSH x 15
  • Circle O’ Merkins: Start with 1 merkin, add by 1 as we go around circle; once gets to Q, start counting down with 1 less per PAX

“Nose”

Get in groups of 3.  1 PAX starts at point 1 with squats, 2nd PAX at point 2 with WWIs, 3rd PAX at point 3 with Burpees. PAX 1 completes 50 squats and then tags partner at station 2, who moves to station 3. Round until all have completed all 3 stations.  Conveniently creates a nice triangular “nose” for our face.

“Smiling Mouth”

Two stations, from one end of path along driving range from stop sign to stop sign.  Sevens with Lt. Dan’s at East end of path, Plank Jacks at West end. Run back and forth, in a nice “smiley face” path.

“Eye #2”

Mosey to circle in front of rec center.

  • Squat relay: PAX perform squats (or jump squats or air chair or whatever we felt in the moment) while 1 runs the circle
  • Mary:  A range of exciting exercises like Flutter Kicks, LBCs, Boxcutters, J-Lo’s, and the ever so interesting Crablegs Tantric Pickle Pounders (clearly, some pickles don’t punt in as many steps as the HIM from Florida)

COT:

  • Welcome FNG Hardcover, a friend of Spinal Tap, who teaches Bible Studies at Belmont, wife is a librarian. Also to Weezer, visiting from Memphis.
  • Tonight is the night:  Campout at Cub Cadet’s Place, under the stars, on the river.  Truly an awesome location. Come for the company, the conversation, the bourbon, the BBQ, the beers.  Cubbie states he’ll lead a workout at 0600 — YHC is a bit worried about the risk for splashing merlot among the PAX.
  • Q spots are open for Bomber — hit up Michelin Man.  After today’s shambolic Q, hopefully you realize anyone can lead.
  • We ended with an F3 standard that had to go away during the pandemic – the Ball of Men. The last one held at Bomber was during my 50th birthday Q the first week of March. At the time, my life was spiraling into what was coming ahead and the stress of what we were all about to face overwhelmed me.  It was an honor to be the Q to bring the BOM back to Bomber.  Thanks to all of you for pushing me to be a better person each and every day. #ISI

Footnote: while the intent of the layout of the workout was to draw a face, it didn’t quite look so accurate in the end:

Bomber 3-12-2021: 51

21 HIM came out to the gloom with a Q noting YHC 51st birthday on Sunday.  Playlist was the long-anticipated answer to the question “Vector, what songs do you consider the best of the 1980s?”  Basically, if these songs are on the radio in my car, don’t change the channel.  There was mumblechatter from the PAX about “why ’80s? Wasn’t he born in the 70s?” to which I respond, “it’s my birthday. So there.”

Playlist:
Need You Tonight – INXS
Take on Me – a-ha
Everything She Does is Magic – Police
Sweet Dreams (Are Made of These) – Eurythmics
Everybody Wants to Rule the World – Tears for Fears

Just Can’t Get Enough – Depeche Mode
Head Over Heels – The Go-Go’s
Billie Jean – Michael Jackson
Blue Monday – New Order
West End Girls – Pet Shop Boys

PAX:  River Dawg, Spinal Tap, Hi-viz, PA, Bad boy, Blueprint, Michelin Man, Softballz (FNG), Right Said Fred, Chowdah, T-cell, Crawlspace, BNB, Freakenomics, Cub Cadet, Hambone, Siri, F3G, Tagalong (FNG), Wet Wipes, Vector (QIC),

Conditions:   Outstanding, mid-60s. Not a long sleeve, cap, or man tight to be seen.

Disclaimer given and then jump right into the Warm-o-rama:

SSH x 51, LBAC x 12, RLBAC x 12, Good Mornings x 10 OHO, Willy Mays Hayes x 12, Squats x 12

Round 1:   “51s” — 5 sets of 5 exercises x 10 reps + 1 burpee.  Overhead Claps, Merkins, Big Boy Sit-Ups, Squats, Lunges. After each set, do 1 burpee and then run around McCabe Rec Center.

Round 2:  Do it again:  LBACs, Incline Merkins, LBCs, Jump Squats, Pull-Ups. Burpee x 1 and run a lap.

COT:

  • Welcome FNGs Softballz and Tagalong!
  • Prayers for Chattanooga PAX who lost a new HIM (Night Sweats) in a car accident.
  • River Dawg is hosting a session on Human Trafficking on Thursday 3/18 at 6:30am — hit him up for the deets.
  • And sincere thanks to the HIM and F3.  I recalled my last birthday Q last March, which happened just as the world was starting to shut down.  I recalled pretty much losing it in the COT (and that that was the last “ball of men” COT we’ve had since).  Thanks to the PAX and especially Cub Cadet, T-cell, PA, Hi-Viz, Crablegs and Pumpkin Spice for the fellowship this year.  Thankfully there is optimism and a vaccine.  Thanks to all of you. #ISI
