PAX: SalPal, Pole Dancer, sooner, Oatmeal, Subway, Siri, Toothless
FNGs: None
COUNT: 8
CONDITIONS: Misty with a light haze of bugs

WARMUP: Mosey down to the farthest field, plus some SSH, WMH, and GM.

THE THANG:
Part 1: F3 Disc Golf
All PAX were given a disc golf putter. A Kanjam goal was set at the other end of the field. PAX had to get their disc into the goal in as few throws as possible.
– Lunge walk to the landing spot of your first throw
– Bear crawl to the landing spot of your second throw
– Murder bunny to all subsequent landing spots until complete
We multiplied the best and worst scores to determine how many burpees to do, which I believe ended up being 3 x 5 on the first pass.

We repeated this except doing bear crawls to the first landing spot and murder bunnies thereafter. Results were much better with us doing 3 x 4 burpees on the second round.

Thang 2: Ultimate!
Between points, scoring teams did 10 merkins, scored-upon teams did 5 burpees.
SalPal Pole Dancer Toothless and Subway (shirts) versus YHC, sooner Oatmeal and Siri (pasty white skins). It was a back-and-forth affair to start until Team PWS started pulling ahead. Shirts made a nice mini-run at the end.

MOLESKINE: Thanks for the push to pivot on the plan today. The real birthday Q at bomber tomorrow!

ANNOUNCEMENTS: Oh so many. Check the calendar. Off the top of my head:
– Hunger Games
– Brewsday farewell to Bareback
– Night Moves

MOLESKINE:
On a particularly rainy morning, YHC was grateful for the 10 PAX who did not let the fartsack win them over and who came out to test their mettle.

I personally found the playlist invigorating, and while there was mumblechatter, I think all but 2 PAX held the full 4 minute plank! Excellent full body yells on brand from Young Pawn.

Considering the conditions, we stayed pretty dry all the way until Mary when Rocket Mortgage promptly had us down in the water for our first exercise. Thanks for that – made the coffee from sooner taste even better!

ANNOUNCEMENTS: So very many – please see -f3-nashville-general for the full list!

Additional announcement is that Oatmeal and sooner are taking their families camping this weekend to Montgomery Bell State Park, and there’s an open invite to others who want to go!

COT: YHC echoed the message in the pre-blast about the importance of AOQs in F3 and shared gratitude for the 5-6 current and previous AOQs we had around the circle. I reiterate that we want PAX to lead before they’re ready and to leave before their ready, and we are pushing to help that trend solidify.

Prayers shared for recent diagnosis, death of an extended family member, and for a tragic incident in another F3 region with an FNG collapsing & not making it. Will share more as that travels through the grapevine.

Thank you, HIM, for your effort today. May you be better for it!

As always, it’s an honor to lead.

PAX: Subway, Papa Bear, Recharge, Cream Cheese, Michelin Man, DintyMoore, Vector, Tim the Toolman, Spinal Tap, sooner, Oatmeal, PeteTheCat
FNGs: None
COUNT: 12.5
CONDITIONS: No complaints

WARMUP:
– SSH x 15
– Good Mornings x 10
– WMH x 10

THE THANG:
To prepare folks for Game Night tomorrow, I adapted the rules of a fun, family game called Go Nuts for Donuts. But rather than collecting a variety of donuts, PAX were attempting to collect a variety of exercises.

6 cards, each showing a specific exercise and number of reps were displayed in a row, numbered 1 through 6. PAX were split into 5 teams and given a set of cards, also numbered 1 through 6. One member from each team held a plank and selected the number from their cards corresponding with the exercise they wanted for their team that round. If no one else picked the same number, their team “won” the exercise. If any teams picked the same number, those teams had to do 15 burpees instead. Meanwhile, all other PAX did SSH.

Exercises included (with variable but not trival rep counts):
– Merkins
– Decline Merkins
– Iron Mikes
– Buzzsaw Planks
– Jump Squats
– Drop Squats
– Monkey Humpers
– Pull-Ups
– Hanging Leg Raises
– Bear Crawl around the circle
– Crawl Bear around the circle
– Split Squats
– Plank Jacks

We did 12 rounds of this. For reference, Team 2, consisting of me, @sooner, and @tim_the_toolman did a crawl bear circuit, 20 pull-ups, 30 monkey humpers, 30 jump squats, 40 iron mikes (each side is a half), 40 buzzsaw planks, and 40 merkins to go along with 75 burpees (Thanks, @sooner )

Fun was had by ~all~ me.

MARY:
– 4 rounds of 10 WW1s and a Hollow Body Hold

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
– Did I mention Game Night?
– Family-friendly shindig at casa de @tim_the_toolman Oct. 27

COT:
– My mom’s speedy and smooth recovery from knee surgery
– Peace and comfort for all those suffering and/or under threat due to violence overseas

Donut Den donuts were consumed by many. Star Bagel was had by some.

Other observations:
– @PeteTheCat showed up and startled many a PAX with aggressive friendliness. @sooner was not a fan. Pete was wise to avoid the HBH but did try to sneak in for some donuts.
– I’m pretty sure there was at least 1 team that exceeded their burpee quota today (looking at @michelin_man and co)
– @oatmeal used some very subtle tactics to dissuade other teams from picking the same exercise as him. It only worked some of the time
– The 30 pull-ups card was in high demand and led to a lot of burpees, for some reason.
– Gratitude to @oatmeal for picking up all the cards
