Humpers – 10 humpers of your choosing at the bottom, run to the next four islands with 10 humpers at each island, run backward to the driveway, 10 more humpers, run backward to the top, 10 more humpers.  70 total humpers.  Indeterminate amount of fun.  Mosey back to parking lot.
Atomic Broad Jumps – Ever so slightly different than Burpee Broad Jumps (in name only). We did these back and forth across the parking lot with WWVI situps (ask Vegemite if you want info on WWVI situps) for the 6.
Lap around the new baseball/ADA path and down to the pavilion for some
Elevens – Simple.  Merkins and Squats.  2 burpee speed bump at mid-court added some difficulty.  Effective.
Sumo Squats – Like, Greasetrap deep squats x25 oyo

Various Exercises – Started by D’Mish in Whale’s Vag 1.0, improved upon yet again today.  PAX scatter and listed to me tell them what to do.
AMRAP – 60 seconds of good solid merkins
Gorilla Humpers – 50 humpers OYO
Incline Merkins – Find a bench…x15 oyo. SSH for the 6.  X10 OYO SSH for the 6.  X5 OYO, SSH for the 6
Nelson Mandelas – There was no obligatory terrorist chatter from Yard Sale today!  10 OYO and then 5 more OYO.  These really suck…just ask Yard Sale.  Off we all went on a reverse lap back to the parking lot.

Oh Brother at Law, Where Art Thou?

It was a late arriving crew this am. The northeast anchorage boys “leg-pooled” together, but later commented that they may have chosen the wrong day for that. There is never a wrong day to do something for the betterment of mother earth. The clock struck 5:30 and Brother at Law led us all on an enjoyable mosey down Trousdale, up the bus loop with some stretchy exercises and ultimately back to the parking lot to circle up.

SSH, WMH, GM were all done in cadence along with some mountain climbers, merkins, arm circles each way, air presses, baby seal claps and 1000 burpees. All of that is true except for the burpees. After counting off 1s and 2s, we were off to grab coupons and line up at the edge of the pavilion for some hill work.

THANG PART 1 – Soggy Bottom Boyz
We will be celebrating the Coen Brothers as me and Brother-at-Law are just a couple of Co(Q)’N Brothers in law. A savagely curated spotify playlist made up of hit songs from Coen Brothers movies accompanied our work during the first half of the morning.

All 1’s would run down to the holler, perform 3 reverse burpees (aka Soggy Bottom Boys) and run back to the pavilion. During this time, all 2’s remain in the pavilion enjoying music and performing AMRAP of the exercises listed below. Flapjack, repeat for all exercises. Coupons uses for all exercises.

THANG PART 2 – Oh Brother at Law, Where Art Thou?
CCR takes over, 2’s return coupons to their home, all pax circle up in the parking lot. I informed everyone that we were going to play a little game called “Oh Brother at Law, Where Art Thou?” We gave Brother at Law a 2 minute head start as he took off running toward Sir E. The rest of us performed 10 burpees on the minute for 2 minutes before we took off after him. The goal was simply to find him and bring him safely back to the school. With the entire neighborhood at his disposal, I feared it may take a long time to find him. With increasing grumbling, the Donuts-led group made their way down Hogan and we decided to run through the Crievewood United Methodist parking lot on the off chance he was there doing burpees on the church steps. By pure coincidence and a stroke of luck, we found him the first place we looked and still had about 10 minutes before time ran out on our workout. After 20 more burpees, we decided to make our way back home with a speed bump of sorts at every driveway we encountered. I believe there was a total of 12 driveways. With 10 merks followed by 10 tuck jumps, my math skills tell me there was a total of 120 reps of each.

With only a few seconds to spare, we squeezed in 10 Flutter Kix in cadence before it was time.

After name-o-rama, we started a trial run of something called the 6th Man. The basic concept is that whoever is 6th during the count-off will be featured similar to how an FNG tells us about himself before being named. Today’s lucky winner was Gresham. We learned many things about him. He is a lawyer and his brother in law is T-Cell. He lives behind the school. If you want to know more, just ask him. He is really nice.

A true pleasure to co-Q with my brother(at law).  Really glad to see Yumi (and Dupree) and Lumbergh back out for more.  My apologies to those who thought part 2 was anything more than a short play that we used to disguise a run down to the ag center and back. Partner 1 runs down to the holler, touches a sign and runs back up the hill to relieve Partner 2

We did Thrusters, sumo squats and full body work (thruster with a curl and skull crusher mixed in)

PART THREE – SPRINTS

Parking lot…1s in front shoulder to shoulder, 2s pole to their partner’s hole

1s 50% to Vegemite’s ride and 100% to the end of the lot

Drop down for merkins while down there, repeat on way back.

Meanwhile, 2s perform various exercises with their coupon.

We Interrupt Sharknado to Bring you Deconstructed Burpees

As time ticked closer to 5:30am, the 20 PAX must have felt confused…maybe a little scared.   Brother at Law confided in me that he was totally embarrassed.  5:30, no CCR. At this very moment, CCR was enjoying the very last bit of REM sleep which included a vision of the scoreboard from tonight’s historic beatdown (more to come on what it revealed). 5:32am came and a frantic blur of hygene, urination, coffee making (after urination), dressing, hitting a dear, fixing the dents, hitting vegemite’s wife as she was out getting the paper in her robe, caring for her, buying cones at CVS and finally pulling into the parking lot at 5:39am. Surprisingly, Bagger had taken charge of the situation and pulled out the fan favorite Sharknado.  Anyone seen Big Perm lately?  Quite a start to the morning. I assume there was a warm-up of some sort, but that will be left out of this account. PAX finish up their 2nd Sharknado lap and head to the parking lot, line up and partner up for the real THANG.

Deconstructed Burpees
Parter 1 performs a 5-legged suicide (run forward, backpedal back) while Parter 2 performs the deconstructed burpee pieces listed below. Flapjack, rinse and repeat until each piece has been completed, SSH for the 6 of course.

Squats (Deep…touching both hands to the ground)
Thrusters (like an atomic merkin without the merkin)
Merkins (slow and low focusing on form over quantity)
Frog Hops (These were bad if you actually did them the whole time)
Squat Jumps (form started slipping here)

All-In…SSH together for a few seconds, then resume suicides with Full Burpees in lieu of the pieces we just practiced. PSL and Too Tall both noted that the burpees were way easier after practicing all the pieces for so long. SSH for the 6

Rinse and repeat with a 3-legged suicide vs. 5. Enough of that.

26 fine men came to Detention today for CCR and Brother at Law’s Co-Q. The weather was delightful: a downright balmy 46 degrees with high humidity. And it felt like a true detention with Principal Dick Belding keeping an eye on things. Here’s how it went down:

CCR led us in a different and dynamic warm-up that he wanted to try “because Bagger isn’t here”. Shoulder to shoulder then:

High knees run and back.
Butt kickers run and back (Backwards return aka “Ludwig style” – Pro tip: sound things out before trying to get cute to spell them backwards for the reverse movement in the BB)
Skips and back (Return Ludwig Style)
Low slow merkins x10 jog and back
Dive Bomber Merkins x10 jog and back
SSH x20

Count off 1’s and 2’2 for partner exercises later in the morn.

THANG
Bro at Law tags in and we mosey to the hill for HILLEVENS.

Atomic Merkins at the top
Jump Squats at the bottom.
SSH until all in.

Lots of grunting. 1’s follow Brother at Law to grab coupons. 2’s follow CCR to the parking lot. Coupon work as follows:

Round 1: Partner 1 lunge walks with coupon length of pickup lines, then same back but with coupon overhead, while Partner 2 plank jacks. Switch out and repeat.
Round 2: Partner 1 runs the bus loop while Partner 2 does Lion Kings (squat into overhead press with coupon). Switch out and repeat.
Round 3: Partner 1 runs the bus loop while Partner 2 kettleblock swings. Switch out and repeat.

The setting was a high 40s soggy kind of morning. Hail State called YHC at 5:18am wondering where everyone was. After some reassurance, he led himself in a stretch and reflect session until the rest of the PAX arrived. Props to PA for rucking from Sylvan park and back. 5:30am brought everyone 10 OYO burpees and a medium mosey over to a nice grassy circle area for some

THE THANG
PAX line up shoulder to shoulder with the goal of performing 100 solid Atomic Merkins. The only rule is that you cannot rest in place. AMRAP on side 1, sprint (ish) through the muck to the other side of the Parthenon, AMRAP, back to side 1, you get the picture. This sucked. My AMRAPS were pretty weak toward the end. We finished off with 25 flutter kicks IC and then we were off on a mosey to my favorite part of the park.

PAX again line up shoulder to shoulder at the bottom of the (we need to come up with a name for this) for some escaltor suicides. PAX run to the first sidewalk, perform 10 burpees and run back. PAX run to second sidewalk, perform 20 jump squats and run back. PAX run to third sidewalk, perform 30 Mountain Merkins and run back. Finally, PAX run to the top of the hill, perform 40 WWI situps and run back. Various exercise for the 6. Crawfish requested SSH (which is what I originally said, so we did). With just a few minutes to spare, we came back down the escalator with 30 jump lunges (60 total jumps for those who were counting…Hambone), 20 regular old merkins and 10 burpees. Flutter kicks and American Hammers for the 6.

MARY
Not much time for mary, so we did 31 flutter kicks IC, 10 J-Los IC and that was that.

It was a clear black morn, a clear white moon (see photo from after). Floppy D and I decided to take the last minute co-Q. Always love trying to fit two beatdowns into 45 min. 23 PAX turned out for the show…CAPSLOCK rolled in hot and hurdled the chain to meet us midway through our mosey up the hill to get the blood flowing. Hambone graced us with his presence along with his ranger panties…so there’s that.

ATOMIC B.O.M.B.S
Start with 15 Atomic Merkins at the bottom, all you got to the top followed by 10 Burpees. WWI and wait for the 6. All in…lets mosey to the parking lot. Since I am sick of using overhead claps for an “O” exercise, I made up something called the Ocho Cinco. 8 Mountain merkins on one side, sprint to middle island, 5 burpees, sprint back to start, 5 Mountain Merkins, sprint to middle island, 8 burpees, sprint back to start. Flutter kix for the six. Circle up for some Mandela Merkins x20, SSH then Mandela Merkins x10. Butterfly situps x10 before we lined back up for a round of Sevens with Jumps Squats and Merkins. This time we only went to the horse trailer. Flutter kix for the six. Flutter kix as a group x20 IC. Everybody up for a nice easy yog back to the point of origin. -30 seconds to spare so we threw in 5 burpees OYO for good measure.

Grow Ruckers…we are starting a ruck training session on Wednesdays at 5:30am at Crieve Hall Elementary. It will start and end around the same time as Smoke Boots, but it won’t replace it.

I always love a good Co-Q with Floppy D. Glad he was up for the last minute effort. Also love that there was 23 PAX out there this AM. Sir-E is alive and well. Glad to have Big Bang and Hambone make the trek to the Shire this morning. Brother-at-Law also made trek from Easy Nasty. Having SBORL and Night Stand back was the icing on the cake…and Black Lung. Please think hard about ways that we can serve our community as a group. We have a ton of resources and brain cells amongst the PAX and I would love for us to bring those to bear this holiday season. Bring us your ideas. T-Claps to Bagger for making it to his 250th post of the year. You are an animal. Also great to see Calfkiller‘s bare ass in the picture. very nice bare ass.
